MCUL & Affiliates Positioned as Leader in CFPB Training

Credit union professionals looking for the latest updates and resources for Consumer Financial Protection Bureau staff training can turn to MCUL & Affiliates and click here for a listing of upcoming conferences and webinars.

CFPB sessions are scheduled at conferences beginning next month, kicking off with the Lending and Marketing Conference, taking place Feb. 12-13 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids where "CFPB Handling Mortgage Issues" will be addressed. Following this, a "CFPB Mortgage Lending Update: Impending Changes to Mortgage Lending" will take place at Compliance From A-Z, Feb. 14 at the same location.

Soon afterwards, volunteers and CEOs will find a "CFPB Overview" and "CFPB Roundtable Discussion for CEOs" at the Spring Leadership Development Conference. The event takes place March 15-17 at the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mount Pleasant.

In addition, more such training is slated for INSIDE Credit Union Compliance, taking place in conjunction with the first day of the MCUL & Affiliates Annual Convention and Exposition, May 16. "CFPB - IMPACT, Dodd Frank Act and Other Compliance Issues" makes up a large part of the event agenda at this conference, which is being held at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Any credit union sending a full conference registrant(s) to the AC&E, qualifies for one representative from their institution to attend INSIDE Credit Union Compliance for free; a $129 value.

MCUL & Affiliates will continue offering more CFPB compliance topic training throughout 2013, with much of it delivered as convenient webinars. Sessions will include "Expanding HMDA Reporting Requirements," "Fees, Disclosures ... Prepaid Card Changes and the Effect on Credit Unions," "Appraisals and the Effects of the Implementation of Dodd-Frank," "CFPB High Cost Mortgage Loan Requirements" and nearly a dozen other CFPB related topics, all discount priced for affiliated members. More information will be provided as session dates are scheduled.
