Laugh More, Live Longer Presented by Dr. Shelby-Lane at AC&E

Do we laugh because we’re happy, or are we happier because we laugh? And, do we live longer, if we laugh more? Dr. Cynthia Shelby-Lane is a physician, speaker, author, talk show host and comedienne who will be on hand Friday, May 17, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the MCUL & Affiliates 2013 Annual Convention and Exposition to give the presentation, "Laugh More, Live Longer."

Shelby-Lane believes that laughter is good medicine and she has the research, experience and talent to prove it. She is a “doctor by day” and a comedienne by night. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and The Second City School of Comedy in Chicago, and has been featured in The New York Times, The Detroit Free Press, ABC News, The Oprah Winfrey Show and on national and local television, Internet and radio programs.

Her candid and comedic speaking style and approach to life allows her to engage an audience with humor, using unforgettable stories, jokes and situations that alter perceptions of how life should and could be.

The AC&E takes place May 16-18 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Shelby-Lane is scheduled to address attendees and guests during an enrichment session to impart her knowledge, wisdom and proven principles for longevity which are guaranteed to optimize health, improve longevity, reduce risk for heart disease and strengthen and enhance personal and professional relationships.
