MCUL & Affiliates and the Department of Insurance and Financial Services are hosting meetings around the state for credit unions under $5 million in assets to discuss numerous topics, including board and fiduciary responsibility under the Michigan CU Act, regulatory/legal implications for the board of directors, the purpose of the examination process, new NCUA and CFPB regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and examiner hot topics.
There were two meetings in April, one hosted by Public Service CU in Romulus and the other at Educational Community CU in Kalamazoo. Two additional meetings have been scheduled in the northern part of the state, the first at Filer CU in Manistee on May 29 and the second at UP Catholic CU in Marquette on June 7.
