… The Metro East Chapter charity committee has announced that it will support the following charities: From February to April, March of Dimes; May to June, Race for the Cure; July to August, school supplies; September to October, Wigs 4 Kids; November to December, Sponsor a Box. The Metro East Chapter will kick off its support for the March of Dimes on Feb. 1. “This is our seventh year supporting the March of Dimes in their efforts to help premature babies,” said Crystal Gracz, Metro East Chapter charity committee chairwoman. “The charity committee hopes to exceed last year’s donation of $19,254.83, thanks to the support from chapter credit unions, their members, friends and families.” The March of Dimes hosts a walk at three locations in the Metro Detroit area on Sunday, April 27, at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township, Oakland University in Rochester and Wayne State University in Detroit. ... Small-asset-size credit unions will find information geared to their needs in the upcoming webinar, How To Prepare A Credit Union Budget. Taking place Feb. 4 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. (ET), participants will discuss the ins and outs of researching, preparing and then living within a credit union budget. ... Best Practices in Used Car Lending will be the topic of a Feb. 6 audio session taking place from 11 a.m. to noon (ET) in cooperation with the Illinois CU League. The session will cover what the top credit unions in the U.S. are doing to make marginal loans, create a loan approval environment for used cars and price used cars to boost loan to share ratio.
