MCUL & Affiliates Announces 2012 State and Federal PAC Award Winners
The MCUL & Affiliates is proud to announce the credit unions that will receive political action committee fundraising honors for their efforts in 2012. The awards will be presented at the MCUL’s upcoming state GAC on April 10 at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Lansing.
The Chairman's Award is given to credit unions in four asset categories that raised the highest percentage of their PAC fundraising goal. Separate awards are given for MCULAF (state PAC) fundraising and MCULLAF (federal PAC) fundraising. Chairman's Award winners for MCULAF were: St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Pontiac FCU (under $20 million category) with 1,979% of its goal; South Central CU ($20-100 million category) with 715% of its goal; Frankenmuth CU (more than $100-250 million category) with 626% of its goal; and Option 1 CU (more than $250 million category) with 382% of its goal.
Chairman's Award winners for MCULLAF were: Norway Community CU (under $20 million category) with 549% of their goal; First General CU ($20-100 million category) with 506% of their goal; United Financial CU (more than $100-250 million category) with 579% of its goal; and Northland Area FCU (more than $250 million category) with 753% of its goal. The Trustee's Award goes to the credit union Chapter that raised the highest percentage of their PAC fundraising goal, with separate awards for state and federal PAC fundraising. The Blue Ox Chapter took both awards, raising 222% of their MCULAF goal, and raising 400% of their MCULLAF goal. The President's Award is given to the credit union that raised the most money overall, with a separate award for the state and federal PACs. First Community FCU took the award for MCULAF fundraising, and Genisys CU earned the MCULLAF award.
The Greatest Percentage Increase from Prior Year award is presented to credit unions who have raised at least 25% of their prior year goal, and has seen the greatest percentage increase for state or federal PAC fundraising. SB Community FCU took the award for MCULAF fundraising with a 1,620% increase over the prior year, and Chatham Eben Co-Op FCU earned the MCULLAF award with a 420% increase. The Gold Star Award is presented to credit unions that achieve 100 percent participation in the Lapel Pin Program, as well as reaching 100 percent of the MCULAF goals. The following credit unions earned this award: Alpena Alcona Area CU, EECU, First Community FCU, Genisys CU, Northland Area FCU, Option 1 CU, South Central CU, Wanigas CU, and Washtenaw FCU.

2013 Lapel Pins Available
The 2013 Lapel Pin campaign is officially in full swing. If you have yet to begin your campaign, take a moment to go through the MCUL & Affiliates website and view the newly redesigned 2013 pins, payroll deduction options, and to learn more about the program.
This year we have made some changes to the Lapel Pin campaign. In addition to a newly designed pin, we have gone back to the traditional pin back style. In an effort to make the lapel pin as accessible as possible, several payroll deduction options are provided. Payroll deduction forms are available for 12 months, 10 months and 5 months. Although the year has already begun, 12-month payroll deduction can begin at any time and run for 12 consecutive months (Proceeds raised until Dec. 31 will be credited toward your 2013 state PAC goal with 2014 deductions being credited towards next year’s goal).
As soon as your order form with your choice your of club status and pin for 2013 is recieved, your pin will be mailed to your address of choice.
