The Michigan CU Foundation has already provided assistance to many Michigan credit unions in 2013 and funding is still available in two categories: Community Reinvestment Initiative grants for any credit union and employee educational scholarships for small credit unions.
Funding is still available for Community Reinvestment Initiative grants for financial education and community outreach projects. A CRI Grant may be just the support needed for your credit union or chapter to implement a financial education activity, community-based project, or to expand credit union community partnerships. For more information see the MCUF website.
MCUF funding for small-asset-sized credit unions for employee educational scholarships is still available for educational events in 2013. SAS credit unions with assets less than $50 million are automatically approved for $1,000 per year. Scholarships are given for a variety of educational events such as those sponsored by MCUL, CU Solutions Group, credit union chapters, Michigan CUES Council and CUNA including conferences, seminars, workshops, webinars and independent study programs.
The MCUF has already provided the following support to Michigan’s credit unions so far this year:
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, MCUF is able to provide these grants and scholarships with the support of donations from credit unions, chapters and credit union system supporters. With a goal of widespread involvement and impact, MCUF aims to involve all Michigan credit unions and chapters in the foundation, both as beneficiaries of funding and as financial supporters. To see a list of this year’s donors or to make a donation, visit the MCUF website.
