The date of the MCUL & Affiliates 2014 GAC has been moved from April, to Tuesday and Wednesday, March 25-26 and will be at the Anderson House Office Building in Lansing. Secretary of State Ruth Johnson has been confirmed as the keynote presenter and credit union advocates are being encouraged to save the date and make plans to gather colleagues to attend.
With the 2014 elections approaching quickly, credit unions need to be visible with strong representation in Lansing. Several important state legislative and regulatory proposals affecting credit unions are on the table for discussion, making it extremely important that Michigan credit unions of all sizes maintain a high profile and remain active in discussions with state legislative leaders.
Small credit unions are encouraged to send management, volunteers and member advocates to meet with lawmakers and learn more about industry initiatives. Registration is discounted to just $99 per person for those attending from credit unions with assets under $50 million. Additional information and online registration will be available soon. Be sure to watch for more details at www.mcul.org.
