Directions Credit Union Awards $10K in Classroom Grants to 23 Local Educators
Lake Trust Credit Union (Lake Trust) marked its eighth annual Powered by Good Day with 322 team members volunteering across Michigan and $39,000 donated to local nonprofits. The statewide effort supported 39 organizations, from food banks and family service centers to libraries and shelters.
“Powered by Good Day has become a beloved tradition and an opportunity for the entire team to come together to bring Lake Trust’s mission to life directly in communities we serve,” said David Snodgrass, Lake Trust President and CEO. “As a purpose-driven credit union, this day of support truly reflects our commitment to uplifting and enhancing the wellbeing of not just our members but the communities they are a part of.”
On Oct. 13, Lake Trust team members volunteered at community centers, food banks and other service organizations across Michigan. The Lake Trust Foundation, an independent entity of the credit union, also contributed $1,000 to each organization where volunteers served.
For the first time, Lake Trust members joined the day of service through a blood drive at the credit union’s headquarters. In partnership with the American Red Cross, the drive drew 40 donors, including 29 first-time participants and five type O donors, collecting 42 units of blood — enough to potentially save up to 126 lives.
