OMNI's "Give Back" Program Supports Four Local Non-Profits
Four local non-profit organizations received donations from OMNI Community Credit Union’s 2022 Give Back Auto Loan Program.
Charitable Union received $5,037. With a purpose of contributing to human dignity, Charitable Union works to provide necessities such as clothing, bedding and household items free of charge. The non-profit also provides support in connecting those in need with community resources.
Habitat for Humanity received $2,359. The Battle Creek chapter of the global nonprofit organization’s mission is to bring people together to build or rehab decent homes for and with families in need. Habitat for Humanity works to eliminate substandard housing by building, rehabilitating, and preserving homes. The organization also advocates for fair and just housing policies.
S.A.F.E. Place received $5,082. The non-profit’s mission to provide safety to, empower, and advocate for victims of domestic violence and sex trafficking is accomplished through support services, prevention education, emergency shelter, counseling, and advocacy.
Southwest Michigan Veterans Relief Fund (SMVRF) received $13,422. SMVRF provides emergency assistance and support to area veterans and their families in time of need. The non-profit works with other local organizations to provide needed services to veterans and their families through organized events, donations and fundraisers.
The annual OMNI Give Back program pledges $15 for each auto loan funded throughout the year. Members who take out an auto loan select one of several local non-profits to receive the donation.
OMNI CEO Ted Parsons shared his thoughts about the sense of community the Give Back program supports. “When we started this program five years ago, seeing it in action was inspiring,” he said. “Five years later, it’s still going strong. Working together with our members to give back to our communities and help make them stronger is more gratifying than ever. We’re planning to continue this program for many years to come.”
A total of $42,045 was donated to local non-profits through the 2022 OMNI Gives Back auto loan program.
