PFCU Employees Volunteer at Food Bank of Eastern Michigan
On April 12, PFCU employees volunteered at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Each hour one person volunteers is the equivalent of helping 355 people.
“While volunteering PFCU was able to help 3,550 people. They sorted over 5,272 lbs. of food which equates to 6,326 meals for people in the community,” said Rolecia Looney, volunteer coordinator for the Food Bank.
This is one of the many ways that the PFCU team demonstrates their commitment and care for the community that we serve. The PFCU team enjoyed volunteering together as a team to pack food for the food bank and are already talking about planning additional dates to volunteer again.
The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan serves a network of more than 700 hunger relief partners throughout 22 counties. The Food Bank has been committed to fighting hunger and working to meet the rising need since it began as a small grass-roots organization in Genesee County, in 1981.
