PFCU Commits $11K towards the Restoration and Enhancement of the City of Perry Veteran’s Memorial Park
PFCU Credit Union has announced a commitment of more than $11,000 to the restoration and enhancement of the City of Perry Veteran’s Memorial Park. The park was destroyed by the tornado that hit the city in early August. The tornado demolished the pavilion, the seven flagpoles and flags honoring our country and six armed-service branches.
PFCU has a commitment to the military connected community and understands how important this place of honor and memory is to veterans and visitors alike. They saw this as an opportunity to step in and help, committing to a donation of over $11,000 to ensure that this Veteran’s Memorial Park is returned to the community, better than ever.
“The community mindedness of PFCU is recognized and greatly appreciated in all areas of their participation in the activities in the City of Perry,” said City of Perry Mayor Sue Hammond.
PFCU joined the Perry community with a branch opening in October of 2022.
“We are so thankful for the warm welcome the community has shown us,” said CEO, Michele Makley. “We saw this as a great opportunity to not only support community, but our Veterans specifically. We are incredibly grateful for their service and this is just a small token of our appreciation.”
“We look forward to continued future community involvement and friendship with PFCU,” said Hammond.
