"Friendly Feud" and More Fun Slated for Directors at Spring Leadership Development Conference
The MCUL 2023 Spring Leadership Development Conference returns to the recently renovated Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant, where updated guest rooms, new ventilation and a smoke-free environment has made everything about the facility a huge hit with attendees.
Geared for Michigan credit union volunteers and executives the event features two general sessions on Saturday, "U.S. Economic Outlook and its Impact on Credit Unions" and "Cybersecurity: What It Is and What the Supervisory Committee Should be Doing."
Breakout sessions will include "Credit Union Reputation Management: What are People Saying," "The Future of Credit Unions: Board Leadership for Growth," "The Relationship Web: Board, Supervisory Committee and Management," "By the Numbers: Understanding a Credit Union’s Financials," "The Only Constant is CHANGE!" and "Getting More Strategic About Loan Growth Post-COVID."
New this year will be the option for Bingo on Friday evening when attendees and guests arrive, as well as a session on "Being at the Center of it All: Roundtable Conversations by Asset Size." The option to attend "Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering Training" will also be available.
Attendees are welcome to bring guests and to enjoy a charitable activity making blankets for a United Way partner or crafting make-and-take gnomes. For added fun a "Friendly Feud" game show-style activity will provide entertainment following the Saturday dinner.
The event takes place April 28-30. Registration is now open and hotel rooms may be secured online utilizing participant registration confirmation numbers. Limited rooms are also being held at a negotiated rate at the nearby Soaring Eagle Waterpark Hotel which includes waterpark passes that offer perfect fun for families.
