Donations to Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals stay within the community, where the funds are raised to provide critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care.
On Nov. 28, the League presented a check for the donation at the Hurley Medical Center in Flint.
“It was an honor to be present while MCUL and CU4Kids presented the check to the Flint CMN Hospital, Hurley," said ELGA Credit Union CEO Terry Katzur, who was present at the event. "We had the opportunity to tour the NICU along with other areas of the hospital that treat children. The work that the CMN hospitals do is vital to our communities and I am very proud that credit unions are there to give support.”
Bridget Staffileno, Mid-Michigan Chapter Chair, was also at the event representing the chapter.
"The Mid-Michigan Chapter is so proud to join hands with the Children's Miracle Network," said Staffileno, who also serves as VP of Community Affairs for Jolt Credit Union. "Through their tireless efforts, they channel love and support to little warriors battling illness, offering them a fighting chance, a reason to smile, and a path to recovery."
The partnership between CMN and the Michigan credit union community dates back to 1998. In this time more than $1 million has been raised for CMN. The credit union industry is the third-highest donor to the organization behind Costco and Wal-Mart.
