NEW NCUF Grant Opportunity Available

Credit unions in the asset range of $500M–$1B are eligible to apply for funding to help them analyze membership demographics and better understand the roles culture, race and ethnicity play in financial wellbeing.

The grant will allow 20 credit unions access to industry-leading programs, data analysis and consultation provided by Attune Insights and Coopera Consulting.

“The persistent financial inequities faced by people of color have been laid bare over the last few years,” said Gigi Hyland, executive director of the National Credit Union Foundation. “Credit unions were founded to support those most in need but to do so effectively, they need to understand who their members are. This grant will catalyze mid-sized credit unions to place member demographic and financial health information at the heart of strategy to future-proof credit unions’ success and growth.”

“We know many of our Michigan credit unions not only have a mission, but strategic focus, of supporting and improving their members financial wellbeing,” said Andrea Tucker, MCUF Foundation Specialist. “Analyzing member demographics and how that affects their financial health, is a great way to get started. We appreciate the NCUF making this grant opportunity available and encourage our mid-sized credit unions to consider applying.”

The Michigan Credit Union Foundation also has grant funding available, for credit unions of all sizes, for other initiatives as well. Learn more about MCUF Community Enrichment Grants here.
