33 Michigan Credit Unions Named to Newsweek’s Best Banks and Credit Unions of 2025
Newsweek published its list of America’s Best Regional Banks and Credit Unions 2025 and 33 Michigan credit unions made the cut.
“Credit unions serve as more than just financial institutions — they are partners in their neighborhoods, actively participating in local events and initiatives that strengthen bonds among members,” said Newsweek Global Editor in Chief Nancy Cooper.
The publication’s methodology in making this list utilized the Texas Ratio (a measure of a financial institution's credit quality). Cooper said they also reviewed profitability and net loans and leases, press coverage over the past two years, an elaborate large-scale independent customer survey of more than 71,000 U.S. citizens, 1.9 million social media reviews and 129 million Apple App store and Google Play store reviews.
