Through weekly updates, a year-long events schedule and countless grassroots events held throughout the state, MCUL is dedicated to continually educating legislators and regulators about the difference credit unions make, both here in Michigan and at the national level.

2023 CUNA GAC: NCUA's Harper Discusses State of the System & Legislative Priorities

National Credit Union Administration Chairman Todd M. Harper spoke today at the 2023 Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C., where he discussed the state of the credit union system and the increasing levels of interest rate, liquidity and cybersecurity risk that credit unions are facing.

Chairman Harper also discussed the NCUA’s legislative priorities, which include restoring the Central Liquidity Facility’s agent member flexibility and expanded borrowing authority, and oversight of credit union service organizations and third-party vendors. He also discussed the importance of small, low-income, and minority depository institutions and consumer financial protection.
