Education & Networking

MCUL is dedicated to keeping the Michigan credit union movement informed throughout the year with an events schedule that tackles our industry’s most relevant and paramount topics. Aside from the knowledge and best practices shared by experts, each of MCUL’s education events offers a great networking platform, where credit union professionals can connect and share insights and takeaways with one another.

CU Compliance for Consumer and Real Estate Lenders, Operations, Deposit Accounts, Business Continuity and More

Michigan credit unions have access to compliance training, including state specific topics, during a special training series being offered in partnership between MCUL and League InfoSight in October.

Topics including check loss prevention, business continuity planning, consumer lending, deposit accounts, real estate lending, credit union operations and an Ask the Compliance Gurus panel discussion is slated over five days, with participants welcome to attend any single or multiple days of training.

As an example, consumer lenders looking for a refresher or overview on the Equal Credit Opportunity Act / Regulation B, the Military Lending Act (MLA), Servicemember’s Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Fair Credit Reporting Act / Regulation V and Truth in Lending Act / Regulation Z may choose to register just for the second day of training on Oct. 8.

The event brings together a wealth of experts including Glory LeDu, Michael Christians, Chuck Holzman, Ty Parker and others to delve into the legal and compliance issues that will be covered during the Oct. 7-11 sessions. Registration is only $349 for a single day and $1,199 for the full week for the Masterclass taking place at The Henry Center in Lansing. Hotel rooms are being held at the Candlewood Suites, attached to the conference complex, on a first-come basis at $99 per night, plus applicable taxes.
