Public Service & Members First Support Financial Wellness Initiatives via MCUF Community Enrichment Support

The Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) recently provided Community Enrichment Support totaling $25,000, to Public Service Credit Union and Members First Credit Union combined, as both credit unions were expanding their programming to include financial wellness initiatives.

Public Service is running a unique social media campaign, working with mid-level influencers on TikTok, to share vital financial education and wellness information aimed at young adults. This includes incentives to set up meetings with credit union financial counselors, providing an opportunity for advanced learning and understanding of financial concepts and to walk away with applicable real-life money skills.

Members First has expanded their financial education outreach with the Banzai program. Banzai offers gamified education for K-12th grade students on life literacy skills including budgeting, saving, managing debt, career planning and more. Members First is focusing their efforts on school districts in underserved areas, with high ALICE populations.

What could your credit union do with a little help? MCUF Community Enrichment Support is available to help boost credit union initiatives aimed at improving financial wellbeing for people, families, businesses and communities in Michigan. MCUF works with cooperative donations to support credit union community enrichment, financial education and credit union development initiatives.
