Recent MCUF Grant Supports Jackson’s Black Excellence Community Revitalization Committee Renovate Local Youth Center.

Recently, TRUE Community Credit Union received a Michigan Credit Union Foundation grant to support their work alongside the local Jackson Black Excellence Community Revitalization Committee. The Committee is working to support the growth and development of Isaiah’s Hub, and the youth they serve, as well as contribute to the stability and prosperity of the community as a whole.

Isaiah’s Hub is a nonprofit community youth center in Jackson, focused on developing strong economical foundations in at-risk youth. They provide a safe, fun, and positive learning space for youth to learn core life skills, trades, occupational learning, leadership, good morals, and more. Isaiah’s Hub offers programs in areas such as academics, after school tutoring, college and career readiness, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, Hispanic prosperity, robotics, theology and more. And TRUE Community is assisting by sharing their knowledgeable staff and expertise in applicable areas as well.

The Michigan Credit Union Foundation awarded 15 Community Enrichment Support Grants in 2023, totaling $69,206 to help boost credit union impact. MCUF works with cooperative donations from credit unions, chapters, and businesses to empower credit unions to increase financial well-being by supporting community enrichment, financial education, and credit union development initiatives. All Michigan credit unions are encouraged to engage with the foundation as financial donors and as participants in MCUF programs.  To learn more, donate or apply for programs visit MCUF.mcul.org.
