2024 AC&E: Corks for a Cause Raises $40K for MCUF

On Wednesday evening, the Michigan Credit Union League’s 2024 Annual Convention & Exposition (AC&E) kicked off with the Michigan Credit Union Foundation Corks for a Cause wine-pull event.

ypsThis networking and fundraising event to benefit MCUF made its eighth annual appearance at the AC&E. It mixes an exciting wine-pull (and wine-swap) station with meeting and greeting friends and colleagues -- all facilitated with the help of the 30 MCUF YP Scholars.

This year, the event raised $41,770, making it the most successful Corks in AC&E history. This included 400 bottles of wine as well as more than 100 beer tasting tickets, and the support from 24 business donors.

“The Michigan credit union industry has come together once again to support the Michigan Credit Union Foundation with this year’s Corks for a Cause fundraiser,” said MCUF Executive Director Andrea Tucker. “Funds raised help support our mission to empower credit unions to increase financial well-being through community enrichment, financial education, and credit union development initiatives.”

“The wine-pull style event, which included beer tasting experience stations, was a huge success due in part to the support we receive from our young professionals and business donors,” she continued. “Our 2024 business donors include Alloya Corporate FCU, Holzman Law, Credit Union Loan Source, Neighborhood Mortgage Solutions, TruStage, ALM First, Angott Search Group, Commercial Alliance, Corporate Central Credit Union, Earnest Consulting Group, Experian, Member Driven Technologies, Michigan Business Connection, Mortgage Center, Origence, PULSE, a Discover Company, Risk Strategies – IZALE Financial Group, Servion Mortgage, State National, Strategic Resource Management, Trellance, CRIG and CUSG. Thank you to those organizations and each credit union and individual who purchased tickets.”
