Gerber FCU SVP/CFO Announces Retirement

philPhil Archer, Gerber Federal Credit Union SVP/CFO has announced his plan to retire in Summer 2024.

Archer came to Gerber in October 2005 with 19 years of financial experience within the credit union industry. He started out as the VP of Finance and was promoted to SVP/CFO in 2021. Over the course of his 18.5 years of employment with Gerber, assets grew from $97 million to $231 million. As a member of the Executive Management team, he was an integral part of this growth as well as the implementation of many new products and services. Archer joined the credit union movement after graduating from Michigan State University and leaves Gerber having spent 38 years in the industry.

“Phil has been a key member of the Executive Leadership Team since his arrival 18+ years ago. He has contributed mightily to the success of the credit union and to our unwavering commitment to our members. Phil will be missed, both at Gerber FCU and throughout the Michigan Credit Union industry,” said CEO John Buckley.

Todd Visser was selected to serve as the new CFO and is working closely with Archer until he retires in late May. Visser has served on the Gerber Supervisory Committee for 15 years and the Board of Directors for four years.
