Introducing the 2026 CU Spark Tank Competition
The Michigan Credit Union Foundation is excited to announce the return of the CU Spark Tank competition in 2026—a dynamic platform designed to highlight and elevate the innovative ideas of young professionals across Michigan’s credit union movement.
This friendly competition challenges the next generation of leaders to pitch forward-thinking products, services, or concepts that can strengthen credit unions and the communities they serve. Each credit union has the opportunity to put forward one young professional who will deliver a seven-minute presentation on an idea that could make a meaningful impact. Presentations may range from ITIN lending strategies and AI-driven solutions, to new HR practices or fresh approaches to community engagement—the sky truly is the limit.
The competition begins at the chapter level, where participants will present between January 1 and April 30, 2026. Each credit union’s representative must participate within the chapter of their headquarters, and many credit unions may also host internal competitions to select their finalist. Winning chapter participants will advance to the statewide stage, gaining exposure, recognition, and the chance to influence the future of the credit union industry.
To help participants shine, the Foundation will be offering online training opportunities, including presentation skill workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions. These resources are designed to ensure that contestants not only develop strong ideas but also communicate them with clarity and confidence.
