MCUF Provides CU Kind Day Grant Funding to Support Small CUs Across Michigan
The Michigan Credit Union Foundation (MCUF) has awarded CU Kind Day grant funding over up to $1,000 each to 21 small asset size credit unions across Michigan, helping them participate in CU Kind Day on October 13, 2025.
CU Kind Day is a statewide initiative dedicated to demonstrating the credit union difference through collective volunteerism and community impact. Each year, credit unions from across Michigan join forces on the same day to engage in service projects, outreach activities, and acts of kindness that strengthen local communities.
This year, MCUF grants are helping small credit unions amplify their efforts by offsetting costs associated with planning, supplies, and project execution. Credit unions receiving CU Kind Day grant funding include:
- Aeroquip CU
- Alpena Community CU
- Breakwater FCU
- Community First FCU
- Family First CU
- Grand Trunk (BC) Employees FCU
- Great Lakes First FCU
- HarborLight CU
- Health Advantage CU
- HPC CU
- Integra First FCU
- Lake Huron CU
- Limestone Financial CU
- Northern Lights Community FCU
- River Valley CU
- Route 31 CU
- Service 1 FCU
- Thornapple CU
- Total Community CU
- TruNoth FCU
- Wolverine State CU
“CU Kind Day is about showing the cooperative spirit of credit unions in action,” said MCUF Executive Director Andrea Tucker. “By providing these grants, we are helping small credit unions maximize their impact and continue to deliver meaningful support to their members and communities.”
MCUF's investment ensures that credit unions of all sizes can take part in this powerful day of service, highlighting the credit union philosophy of people helping people.
Although MCUF’s CU Kind Day grant funding has closed, there is still time for credit unions to commit to participating in #CUKindDay25 as Kindness Ambassadors. All Michigan credit unions are encouraged to join this statewide movement to make a difference on Oct. 13.
