Breakwater Federal Credit Union Thanks Community for Supporting Local Families Through Giving Tree Program
Breakwater Federal Credit Union thanked its members and community supporters for making its inaugural Giving Tree program a success, providing holiday gifts and essential items to families across Houghton, Keweenaw and Baraga counties.
Through the program, five families, including 12 children, received wrapped gifts, warm clothing and other necessities to help make the holiday season brighter. By the end of the collection period, the credit union’s lobby was filled with donated items ranging from toys and books to winter gear and household essentials.
In addition to member donations, Breakwater staff contributed monetary gifts to purchase additional items and stocking stuffers to support entire families. The program exceeded expectations, with community members contributing well beyond the requests listed on the Giving Tree tags.
Breakwater also recognized its lending department for leading the effort and helping bring the Giving Tree program to life.
The Giving Tree initiative reflects Breakwater Federal Credit Union’s commitment to building lifelong relationships and supporting the communities it serves.
