FreeStar Financial Board Chair Raymond White Jr. Inducted into DCUC Hall of Honor
Raymond White Jr., Board Chair of FreeStar Financial Credit Union, has been selected for induction into the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Hall of Honor. The award is one of the highest national recognitions in the defense credit union movement.
The DCUC Hall of Honor annually recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to military communities through credit union leadership and service. The honor celebrates those who reflect the values of service, integrity and dedication to the defense credit union mission. White joins a group of distinguished inductees whose work has advanced support for military families at base-founded credit unions around the world.
White will be formally inducted during the DCUC Hall of Honor Ceremony at the DCUC Annual Conference, taking place July 28 through Aug, 1, 2025, in Palm Desert, California. He is recognized for his service to credit unions and his longstanding advocacy for Selfridge Air National Guard Base (ANGB) and Michigan’s military community.
Chief Master Sergeant (Ret.) White served 34 years in the United States Air Force Reserve. His personal connection to military life and to Selfridge ANGB—a joint Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security installation in Harrison Township—has informed his work at FreeStar Financial Credit Union, which maintains a strong tradition of serving military members and their families.
As Board Chairperson, White has led FreeStar Financial through statewide expansion, guided multiple mergers and supported the development of new branches to improve community access. Under his leadership, the credit union has strengthened its financial foundation while continuing to prioritize service to members.
White has received additional honors in recent years, including:
- 2023 Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) Board Member of the Year
- Macomb County Volunteer of the Year for the 8th District
His induction into the DCUC Hall of Honor reflects decades of service to both his country and the credit union movement.
