Genisys Volunteers 2,300 Hours to Support 11 Nonprofits During Season of Giving
Genisys Credit Union marked the Season of Giving by volunteering more than 2,300 hours across 11 nonprofit organizations during a collective day of caring that spanned six counties in Michigan and Minnesota.
“The mission for our day of caring was centered around being present in our communities in Michigan and Minnesota; listening, serving, and making a real difference, together,” said Jackie Buchanan, President/CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “Even though our team is spread out, our commitment to community keeps us connected. By working alongside our nonprofit partners, we advanced projects that supported families, sustained vital programs, and strengthened the communities we call home. This day served as a powerful reminder that when we unite for a shared purpose, we can create lasting impact.”
A total of 580 Genisys team members volunteered four hours each to support nonprofit partners including the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, Detroit Dog Rescue, Turning Point, Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, the Clinton River Watershed Council, Clarkston Family Farm, Lighthouse of Michigan, The Open Door (Minnesota) and local municipalities in Michigan and Minnesota.
In addition to volunteer service, Genisys invested nearly $140,000 through a combination of financial contributions, purchased project materials and the value of volunteer time. The investment reflects the credit union philosophy that meaningful community support includes time, resources and financial assistance.
