Greater Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions Donate $9K to Michigan Food Pantries
On behalf of the Greater Southwest Chapter of Credit Unions, area credit unions are donating a total of $9,000 to support three Michigan food pantries this holiday season. Each organization will receive $3,000 to help provide essential resources and nutritious meals to local families in need.
The three recipient organizations are:
- Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes
- Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency
- South Michigan Food Bank
This joint effort highlights the credit union industry’s shared commitment to building strong Michigan communities by addressing food insecurity during the holidays.
"Supporting local organizations like the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes, and the South Michigan Food Bank aligns with our mission to uplift communities," said Megan Hendrix, Honor Credit Union COO and chair of the Greater Southwest Chapter Credit Unions. "Credit unions are built on the principle of People Helping People, and this initiative demonstrates that in action."
These donations will bolster the three food banks’ efforts to provide critical assistance to families facing economic challenges, ensuring thousands in the region can access meals and resources during a crucial time of year.
