North Central Area CU Opens Spanish-Speaking School Branch
North Central Area Credit Union (NCACU) opened Banco Del Puente, a fully Spanish-speaking school branch at El Puente, in partnership with Jenison Public Schools. After months of planning, training and teamwork, the credit union is thrilled to bring financial literacy and resources directly to the next generation of leaders.
"At NCACU, we believe financial literacy is a critical life skill, and there’s no better time to start teaching it than during childhood. Through Banco Del Puente, students will gain hands-on experience managing their finances, learning how to save, and building the foundation for a lifetime of financial confidence," said a NCACU representative.
Banco Del Puente joins two of the credit union's other active school branches in northern Michigan communities, furthering its commitment to empowering youth across communities with hands-on financial education and services.
During its first day, Banco Del Puente had:
- 7 new student accounts opened
- $46 in deposits collected (and growing!)
"This is more than just a school branch — it’s a bridge (el puente) to brighter financial futures for our youth. Thank you to everyone who made this dream come to life. Let’s continue empowering the next generation!" continued the credit union representative.
