TRUE Community Credit Union Distributes 200 Books and Launches Social Media Giveaway for Reading Month
TRUE Community Credit Union (TRUECCU) is celebrating March Reading Month with a strong commitment to building financial confidence in Michigan’s youngest learners. As an active participant in the MCUF-funded Smart Money Kids Read initiative, TRUECCU is taking its local impact even further this year by distributing 200 books to students and community partners and launching a month?long social media book giveaway.
The credit union’s leadership team recently participated in the book-packing event supporting the statewide Smart Money Kids Read initiative. This year’s featured book, “How Do You Spend?” by Cinders McLeod, helps young readers explore early money concepts in a fun and engaging way. TRUECCU has taken that energy back to its communities by ensuring students have access to the book and the tools to build lifelong financial confidence.
“Building strong financial futures starts with the youngest members of our communities,” said MCUF Executive Director Andrea Tucker. “Through our Smart Money Kids Read program, Michigan credit unions are helping introduce important money concepts in a way that’s fun, engaging, and accessible for families. By partnering with public libraries, credit unions are helping spark conversations about saving, spending, and financial confidence that can last a lifetime.”
In addition to distributing 200 books, TRUECCU’s Financial Education team is hosting a Reading Month social media giveaway offering 10 book bundles. This effort expands the credit union’s reach beyond classrooms and partner organizations, giving even more families the chance to bring financial education and reading into their homes
