Wildfire Secures $45K in FHLBI Funding for Affordable Housing Efforts

Wildfire Credit Union has announced a $45,000 grant award for three regional Habitat for Humanity affiliates through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) Community Multiplier – Member Match program.

The funding will be distributed equally among Habitat for Humanity of Bay County, Midland County Habitat for Humanity and Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity to support affordable housing initiatives in the communities they serve.

Community Multiplier – Member Match is a matching grant program available to financial institution members of FHLBank Indianapolis. The program provides grants of up to $60,000, with participating financial institutions contributing a minimum 25% match to support targeted affordable housing efforts.

“We’re pleased to support the important work of Habitat for Humanity throughout our region,” said Ben Denay, CEO of Wildfire Credit Union. “This funding will help strengthen the efforts of the three Habitats for Humanity operating in the counties we serve as they work to expand access to safe, affordable housing for individuals and families in our communities.”

The $45,000 grant, combined with Wildfire Credit Union’s matching contribution, will provide each Habitat for Humanity affiliate with $18,750. The funding will support ongoing efforts to help local families access safe, affordable housing and improve housing stability throughout the region.

According to Wildfire Credit Union, the grant reflects its commitment to supporting community development and expanding access to housing opportunities in the areas it serves.
