The Detroit Free Press Marathon announced the extension and expansion of its partnership with MSU Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU) as the Presenting Sponsor for the next three years. This announcement builds on the successful collaboration from the previous year, further solidifying the strong relationship between the two organizations.

The partnership highlights MSUFCU's commitment to the Detroit community and its support for one of the city's most iconic sporting events. The Detroit Free Press Marathon, known for its unique international course, will continue to benefit from the enhanced visibility and support provided by MSUFCU.

Aaron Velthoven, VP and race director of the Detroit Free Press Marathon, expressed his enthusiasm for the renewed partnership: "We are grateful for the long-term commitment by MSUFCU as our Presenting Sponsor. Their dedication to community and financial wellness aligns perfectly with the spirit of our marathon weekend. This partnership is not just about running; it's about building a stronger, more connected community.”

MSUFCU CEO April Clobes shared her thoughts on the partnership: "At MSUFCU, we believe in supporting initiatives that enrich our members and the communities we serve. The Detroit Free Press Marathon is a celebration of the spirit of Detroit and the State of Michigan. We are proud to be part of this incredible event and look forward to three more years of inspiring participants to achieve their dreams.”

The Detroit Free Press Marathon, set to take place on Oct. 18-20, 2024, is North America’s largest International road race, featuring a course crossing international borders into Windsor, Ontario, Canada and back in Detroit, Michigan.
