LMCU Hires Community Mortgage Loan Officer in Michigan
Lake Michigan Credit Union (LMCU) announced the hiring of Mario León as community relations mortgage loan officer for the West Michigan area.
León joins LMCU with a background in housing equity, financial coaching, and program development. He is deeply involved in his community and volunteers with organizations like Kids’ Food Basket, Meals on Wheels and Grand Rapids Public Schools. León is also bilingual in English and Spanish.
As a community relations mortgage loan officer, León will cultivate relationships with community leaders and local businesses to better connect more people with the resources they need to make it affordable for them to buy a home and prepare them for homeownership.
LMCU VP of Mortgage Strategy John Harpst believes that Mario’s passion for his work makes him a valuable addition to the team, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mario for some time, and you can clearly see how much he cares about helping people in our community. LMCU has always placed an emphasis on community lending, and Mario will play an important role in expanding our efforts to support local residents and businesses.”
León is excited to work with a team that is committed to equity and community lending, “I like to think of myself as a community connector. Now at LMCU, I have even more opportunities and resources to educate and connect people with what they need to reach their goals.”
