Forbes Names Michigan’s Top 10 Credit Unions for 2025
Forbes has once again teamed up with market research firm Statista to release its annual list of America’s Best-In-State Credit Unions. The 2025 edition highlights the top-performing credit unions in each state, based on direct member feedback and online sentiment analysis.
In Michigan, ten credit unions earned high praise for their service quality, trust, digital experience and financial guidance.
Here are the ten credit unions that made the cut in Michigan this year, ranked by member satisfaction:
1. Alpena Alcona Area Credit Union
2. Genisys Credit Union
3. Lake Michigan Credit Union
4. ELGA Credit Union
5. Credit Union ONE
6. Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union
7. Lake Trust Credit Union
8. Community Financial Credit Union
9. Advia Credit Union
10. MSU Federal Credit Union
How the Rankings Were Determined
Forbes and Statista surveyed approximately 26,000 U.S. consumers for this year's rankings. Respondents were asked to rate their credit unions on six key drivers: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, customer service, and financial advice. Only 3% of the nation’s 4,800+ credit unions made the final list—making this a significant honor.
