MCUL's Team Behind the Scenes is an article series running through the end of the year that's designed to give the Michigan credit union community more insight into the people who make up our dedicated team.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was in middle school, my plan was to move to New York City and become a fashion designer or be on Broadway.
Is there a book or podcast that has inspired you recently?
Yes! I just finished a book called, "Remarkably Bright Creatures" by Shelby Van Pelt. It's a beautiful story about life, aging and grief. It does a great job of showing how people's lives and relationships are interconnected. I highly recommend it!
What does a perfect day off look like for you?
The perfect day for me starts with a refreshing workout class or run in the morning. Then, I would spend most of my afternoon at the beach, preferably on Lake Michigan. To end my day, I would enjoy a delicious dinner out with my friends!
What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of career advice I have ever received is that it is okay — sometimes even important — to make mistakes. Of course, I try my best to avoid them. However, when a mistake is inevitably made, I try to see it not as a setback but as an opportunity to learn and grow.
