Michigan Credit Unions Outpace National Medians in NCUA's Q2 2026 Review
Michigan credit unions continued to post strong financial results in the second quarter of 2026, according to the latest NCUA Quarterly U.S. Map Review. Michigan's median asset growth reached 4.5%, well above the national median of 2.9%, while median share and deposit growth came in at 4.2%, compared to 2.5% nationally. Michigan credit unions also reported median loan growth of 3.3%, significantly outpacing the national median of 0.6%.
Membership levels remained relatively stable, with a median decline of just 0.1%, outperforming the national median decline of 0.6%. Michigan's median delinquency rate of 70 basis points was nearly identical to the national median of 69 basis points, reflecting continued portfolio strength despite economic pressures.
