PFCU Credit Union Celebrates Educators Through Cash for Classrooms Program
PFCU Credit Union is continuing its commitment to supporting educators across Mid Michigan through its Cash
for Classrooms program, now in its sixth year. The initiative recognizes teachers’ dedication by providing funding to help meet classroom needs and enhance student learning.
Each year from January through May, teachers are nominated to receive $150 to support expenses in their classrooms. In 2026, PFCU awarded 25 teachers a total of $3,750 through the program, helping address a variety of classroom needs.
In addition to these awards, the credit union expanded its recognition during Teacher Appreciation Week, held May 4 through May 8. During that week, five additional teachers were surprised with Cash for Classrooms funding for their classrooms along with donations of school supplies to benefit their broader school communities.
The program reflects PFCU’s goal of recognizing the ongoing dedication and hard work of teachers in the communities it serves. By providing financial support and classroom resources, the credit union aims to make a meaningful impact on local education.
One recent recipient shared their appreciation, stating, “I cannot wait to order several new
books for my students. I appreciate this money so much!”

PFCU plans to continue the Cash for Classrooms program in the future, with application and nomination details available each year on its website. Eligible applicants include full-time, part-time, and substitute teachers serving Pre-K through 12th grade in public, private, or charter schools.
