TLC Community Credit Union Names Alycia Nichols President and CEO

TLC Community Credit Union has named Alycia Nichols its next president and CEO, effective July 1, 2027. Nichols will succeed Jeff Brehmer, who plans to retire after eight years leading the credit union.

Nichols currently serves as executive vice president and brings 24 years of experience with TLC to the role. A Lenawee County native, she began her career with the credit union in 2002 as a part-time teller at its Main office. At the time, TLC held $197 million in assets and operated three branches.

Today, TLC serves more than 47,000 members through nine branches and is approaching $1 billion in assets.

“Alycia knows this credit union, built a rapport with her team, and she knows the communities we serve because she’s from them,” said Meredith Francis, chair of the TLC Board of Directors. “The board is confident she is the right leader to guide TLC through its next stage of growth while staying true to who we are.”

Throughout her career at TLC, Nichols has held positions across member service, branch leadership, mortgage and operations. She served as branch manager of the Blissfield branch following its opening in 2009 and later became TLC’s first designated mortgage loan officer. She was promoted to vice president of mortgages in 2018 before serving as vice president and senior vice president of operations. In 2022, she was named executive vice president, overseeing lending and operations.

“I’m honored by the board’s trust and grateful to Jeff for the foundation I get to build on,” Nichols said. “TLC’s strength has always been its people — the employees who show up for our members every day and the members who trust us with their financial lives. My focus will be on investing in that team, deepening our member relationships, and making sure that as we grow, we never lose the local, people-helping-people spirit that got us here.”

A Blissfield native, Nichols holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Siena Heights University and is a graduate of CUNA Management School. She is currently participating in the CUES CEO Institute and is a Leadership Lenawee alumna.

Nichols has also been active in the community through Blissfield Rotary, the Blissfield Athletic Boosters, the Lenawee County Association of Realtors and the ATHENA executive committee.
